Rockfall trajectory reconstruction: a flexible method utilizing video footage and high-resolution terrain models

چکیده
Abstract. Many examples of rockfall simulation software provide great flexibility to the user at expense a hardly achievable parameter unification. With sensitive site-dependent parameters that are generalizable from literature and case studies, must properly calibrate simulations for desired site by performing back-calculation analyses. Thus, trajectory reconstruction methods needed. For purpose, computer-assisted videogrammetric 3D method (CAVR) built on earlier approaches is proposed. Rockfall impacts visually identified timed video footage manually transposed detailed high-resolution terrain models act as spatial reference. This shift in reference removes dependency steady precisely positioned cameras, ensuring CAVR can be used reconstructing trajectories witnessed previous records with nonoptimal footage. validation, applied reconstruct some experiment performed WSL Institute Snow Avalanche Research SLF. Utilizing Video Footage for the Analysis of Pedestrian Behavior
This paper presents an analysis of pedestrian traffic performance from an empirical study. Video footage from a university building corridor was used to quantify pedestrian behavior for inclusion in a pedestrian simulation model. A coordinate conversion technique that maps images in the footage onto a real-world coordinate system was used for data collection. Pedestrian characteristics such as ...
متن کاملBayesian high-resolution reconstruction of low-resolution compressed video
A method for simultaneously estimating the high-resolution frames and the corresponding motion field from a compressed low-resolution video sequence is presented. The algorithm incorporates knowledge of the spatio-temporal correlation between low and high-resolution images to estimate the original high-resolution sequence from the degraded low-resolution observation. Information from the encode...
متن کاملDigital Terrain Model Resolution and its Influence on Estimating the Extent of Rockfall Areas
As rockfall can cause a great deal of damage, it is essential to know its spatial propagation. Rockfall models are sensitive to the resolution of input data i.e. the used digital terrain models (DTM). Nowadays, high resolution elevation data are area widely available from airborne laser scanning (ALS). ALS can even provide very accurate terrain information in forested areas. However, rockfall m...
متن کاملA Flexible and Automatic 3d Reconstruction Method
This paper proposes a flexible and automatic technique of 3D modeling from images captured by a handheld camera. The camera used here is a metric digital camera. This method is well suited for use without specialized knowledge of 3D geometry or computer vision. The technique only requires the camera to take photos around the object to be measured. The camera can be freely moved. But, the distan...
متن کاملLatest Results on High-Resolution Reconstruction from Video Sequences
A problem of recurring interest involves the construction of a panoramic video mosaic from a video sequence generated from a camera and then obtain high resolution images of regions of interest in the mosaic. The camera motions are estimated by calculating the parameters of a projective model and then superresolution is attained by an algorithm for constructing a high resolution image from unde...
